Kanye Gets His Paper Work Together and List ‘Birthday Party’ as his Party Affiliation

It appears the reports of Kanye West bowing out of the 2020 presidential race were a bit premature. According to multiple reports, Kanye has filed the necessary documents with the FEC (Federal Elections Commission), making “Kanye 2020” an official campaign. Ye also listed his party affiliation as “Birthday Party.”

The FEC filing comes just a day after a Statement of Organization was submitted to the commission that authorizes the newly formed committee to raise and spend money. Kanye will be required to file the Statement of Candidacy document after he breaks the $5,000 threshold in raised funds. West has already qualified to be on the ballot in Oklahoma come November. “This afternoon we received a properly executed statement of candidacy for Kanye West, along with the appropriate filing fee in lieu of petition,” said Oklahoma State Election Board spokeswoman Misha Mohr. “Kanye West is now qualified as an independent candidate for President of the United States in Oklahoma and will appear on the General Election ballot.”
